Thank You for Another
Exceptional Year
June 27, 2025
As we wrap up the school year, in this 50th edition of The World is Our Classroom newsletter, I just want to say thank you.
Whether you joined one of the workshops, came to the IB Economics Teacher Summit in Shanghai, sent a thoughtful email in response to a newsletter, or just quietly read along each Friday—thank you for being here.
Your support, your insight, and your presence have meant so much.
This year I’ve learned a lot—not just about pacing and curriculum design, but about what it takes to build strong, sustainable systems. And more than that, I’ve learned how much those systems depend on good people working together.
When schools are built on trust, on collaboration, on the willingness to listen and grow, they become places where everyone—students, teachers, coordinators—can thrive. And I’ve been reminded again and again this year just how much strength there is in this global IB community.
I also want to thank my colleague and good friend Kurt Supplee for another year of collaboration, reflection, and plenty of laughs in all of our work around the IB Core. His partnership is a big part of what makes this work so enjoyable and meaningful.
The newsletter will take a short break and return on August 15th. If you’re still interested in joining us for the IB Economics New Teacher Workshop on July 28–29, there are spots left. It’s a great way to kick off the year with clarity and confidence.
Next week, Sofia and I are heading to our little cabin in the woods of northern New Hampshire for two weeks of much-needed rest, campfires, books, and quiet. After that, we’ll spend the rest of the summer taking advantage of our first summer in Europe, traveling through Greece and sitting on the beach as much as possible.
Wishing you a long, restorative summer.
Thank you again—for everything this year.
Be good out there.
See you in August.
